My school now has a literary magazine, and they were having a contest to see whose writing they would include in it, so my language arts teacher thought it'd be fun if she make it required to submit a piece. This is what I came up with.
trampled rose - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
What have they done? Their words like knifes sever your leaves make your petals bleed They uprooted you, planted you on unsure ground They trampled you, stomped you into the dust and left you there as if you were nothing
But you aren't nothing All you need is the healing rain and you will bloom again You are not alone The sky sees your pain, and it weeps for you Embrace its tears and you will be beautiful
